PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR IMPORTANT LINKS REGARDING DISCRIMINATION.  COMPLAINT ACTION FORM AND POSTER.

So how do you spell Discrimination! – Nov 3, 2009 – Arizona – By Tim O’Reilly; ABATE of Arizona State President - I don’t know how many of you have heard about what is going on in and around Kingman.  It seems that Mohave County is becoming especially discriminatory against all motorcyclists.  The State Gang Task Force has been seen all around Kingman, especially during bike nights. If you have a center patch, you will be stopped and harassed by law enforcement, regardless of whether you belong to a Motorcycle Club or not.  There have been motorcyclists stopped wearing the Harley Davidson logo patch, (a registered trademark) on the back of their jacket.  Proceeds from Bike Nights are usually to raise money for a benefit or a charity, the business generated for the establishments helps them pay their bills so during these hard times they can remain open.  Due to the stepped up patrols and stops by law enforcement, one of the bike nights was moved from a bar to the local Sonic Drive-In, (no alcohol sold there)!  As some of the bikes were leaving the Sonic they were followed by police

Many places that sell liquor, have been visited by law enforcement and told to put up signs that state “ No Colors”, if they refuse to comply they just may lose their liquor license. Kind of reminds me of Guido and Vinny back in Chicago, they go in and tell a business owner something like, you need protection and if you don’t pay your “Street Tax”, maybe something bad will happen to your business?  Yea like a fire, or maybe in these cases no more liquor license. Either way the business owner, if they don’t “do as they’re told” will be out of business. Nice Huh… So guess we need a program to tell the cops from the mob… I mean bad guys.  But with this line up who are the good guys?

Motorcyclists are being stopped by law enforcement, just because they ride a bike, and have a patch on their jackets or vest.  It doesn’t matter if they belong to a motorcycle club or belong to a Motorcycle Rights Organization, or are promoting a well known corporation flying their logo trademark, like H-D, Victory Motorcycles, or American Legion Riders, who display a full back patch, or any other distinguishing patch the rider may display.

We all have read or heard on TV or radio about law enforcement “profiling” usually the article refers to a group of the same ethnic race, (skin color). It all boils down to Discrimination!!! So now do I have your attention? Law enforcement has just lumped all of us into one big pot, now haven’t they? The perception must be, if you ride a motorcycle, and wear any patches on your jacket or vest you must be, What?  A bad guy or maybe a person of interest.  No matter, (law enforcement) needs to stop and identify you. Sounds more like the Republic of North Korea than the good ole’ USA.

You know I actually went to the Arizona State map and found Kingman.  Just as I suspected, it’s in Arizona the 48th.  State of The United States of America, which is covered by several documents, known as the U.S. Constitution and The Bill Of Rights?

Bill of Rights: 1st. Amendment; Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people Peaceably To Assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I wonder if the Gang Task Force will be out in force on Sunday afternoon, stopping all those football fans wearing the same team jerseys?  They all look the same to me; they even have a “patch” on the back… Another question which is more important, will the bar owners that have posted “No Colors allowed” be keeping those people out of their establishments, aren’t those “COLORS” ? I am not singling out the establishments that display the “No Colors Allowed” signs. They were forced into it, fearing the loss of their license and business. Most supported and relied on the motorcyclists to support their business. This is a show of support for the bar owners as much as it is for all motorcyclists.

It seems that what has been going on in Kingman, maybe a testing ground for other cities and counties throughout the state for later dates.

ABATE, MMA, and the ACMC are asking for your support on Sat, Nov 7th. 2009.  There will be a protest ride starting from the American Legion Post 14, 225 Oak St. Kingman, AZ. The ride will start at 1:00pm.   For those who choose to attend the support ride, please do not give law enforcement Any reason to stop you. If you are stopped be courteous at all times.  This is a show of support for all motorcyclists and the establishments with their liquor licenses at risk.   For those of you who did not attend Riot on the River, in Winkleman, AZ you missed a really good time, bike show, bike games, people games good venders and food. Thanks to the ACMC for putting on a great venue.
